Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Add sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  3. Sift together flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add to wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
  4. Spread half of the brownie batter in the baking dish. Mix pecans, corn syrup, brown sugar, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Pour over the brownie batter.
  5. Spoon the remaining brownie batter over the pecan pie filling. Bake for 40 minutes until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs in the center.
  6. Cool in the dish for an hour, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting.

Notes

For the best flavor, use high-quality cocoa powder and consider toasting the pecans for an enhanced texture.
